Hajiji shouldn't Resign or Dissolve State Assembly

KOTA KINABALU: There is no need for the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, to resign simply because of pressure from several defamatory video clips that have been intentionally spread by a whistleblower who is still keeping their identity concealed.
The Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) chief for the Likas division, Mohammad Bahrin Abd Karim, stated that it is very illogical and lacks merit for opposition leaders to urge Hajiji to step down. This is an act of "Political Conspiracy."
He also mentioned that it does not make sense for them to demand Hajiji to dissolve the State Assembly (DUN) earlier to pave the way for the State Election (PRN) simply due to the fabrications they have concocted themselves.
"The proposals from the opposition leaders are unreasonable and politically motivated, aimed at undermining the political stability and unity of the people of this state," he said in a statement today.
He stated that the dissemination of defamatory videos involving Representatives is solely aimed at character assassination, which tends to exert pressure on Hajiji's leadership.
According to him, character assassination is an intentional and ongoing effort to tarnish the reputation and credibility of elected representatives and the government with malicious intent, which is very dangerous and defamatory in nature.
He emphasised that Sabah and its people still need Hajiji’s service as a Chief Minister who courageously fights for and defends the rights and interests of Sabah.
"The people of Sabah will not be divided merely because of this political conspiracy aimed at toppling the State Government, as the people do not want a cowardly, hypocritical, and deceitful Chief Minister.
"The people of Sabah should not allow them to divide our unity. Unity is our greatest strength."
He stated that if the disclosure of such defamatory videos is used as a measure to demand any leader to resign, then what about other leaders associated with similar cases who are currently under investigation and facing charges in court?
He pointed out that some of them still hold positions both in the government and the party. Should they also resign?
Bahrin mentioned that the Prime Minister Datuk Anwar Ibrahim (PM) X himself has been accused of various issues related to abuse of power and more by certain parties. Even international media have made wild statements against PMX regarding the same issue.
"Therefore, should PMX also resign due to such unfounded accusations?" he questioned.
He commended Hajiji’s steadfastness in not succumbing to malicious efforts that threaten the government and undermine the political stability of the state.
He noted that Hajiji has rescued nearly one million acres of land, with a significant portion being fully protected areas, water catchment areas, and conservation areas by cancelling the applications from the group spreading those video clips.
Bahrin stated that he, along with the leadership and all members of the PGRS in Likas, stand firm and fully support Hajiji's leadership and want him to continue to lead this state.
