KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador who clocked out as Inspector-General of Police (IGP) after a two-year tenure today said he would expose a prominent figure carrying a "Datuk Seri" title for power abuse.
The person was said to have abused his power by using the Special Branch for his own political agenda, Astro Awani reported.
Hamid however did not state when the disclosure would be made.
The duties have been handed over to his deputy Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani who will assume the role starting tomorrow.
The handover ceremony was held at the Bukit Aman Senior Officers' Mess. Deputy Home Minister Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said was present to witness to handover.
Days before ending his tenure, Hamid made a press conference on the interference of police matters by Home Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainudin in which he mentioned that such issue is "no good for the country".
The conference was made after Hamzah confirmed that he was the person in a leaked recording of a conversation about the reshuffling of the police force.
