Immediate Aid Channelled to Victims of Kampung Mangkalinau Fire

SANDAKAN: A fire broke out at Kampung Mangkalinau at around 8.00 p.m. last night, destroying 17 houses, most of which were completely razed. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the incident.

As a gesture of concern for the affected families, the Chairperson of Jetama Water Sdn Bhd, Liau Fui Fui, took immediate action to deliver emergency assistance to the victims. The aid comprised disaster relief baskets containing food and basic necessities, drinking water, and clothing for families who lost their homes.

Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung was also present during the distribution of the assistance, showing solidarity and support for the affected families.

Liau emphasised that caring for disaster victims is a shared responsibility and that swift action is crucial in helping them cope during difficult times.

“We hope this initial assistance will help ease the burden of the affected families while they await further aid from the relevant agencies,” she said.
