KOTA BELUD: The Solidarity Dialogue for the residents of Kadamaian area, featuring the President of the Parti Solidariti Tanahairku (STAR Sabah), Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffery G. Kitingan, who is also the Sabah Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry, was held on November 30, at Kadamaian Square Taginambur.

In his opening speech, Jeffery urged STAR members to remain united and supportive of the state government, which currently consists of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH). He emphasised that the party's priority now is to assist in the development of the state in line with the vision of a prosperous Sabah.

“It is not the time to be solely engaged in politics, but we must collaborate with the state government to advance Sabah,” he stated.

Jeffery also commented on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), stating that this issue is now at the final stages of resolution. He advised that it should not be politicised for the benefit of the people of Sabah.

“I am grateful to the federal ministers from Sabah who continue to advocate for MA63 rights at the federal level. I also appreciate the efforts of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is working diligently to resolve this matter,” he added.

The Chief of STAR Kadamaian, Datuk Rubbin Guribah, also delivered a welcoming speech where he suggested that the President of STAR consider a representative from STAR Kadamaian as a candidate in the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN). According to Rubbin, this suggestion reflects the grassroots spirit of wanting to see a STAR Kadamaian candidate bring their voices to a higher level.

The programme also included a session where appointment letters were handed over to the heads of the STAR Kadamaian Voting District Centres (PDM). This step reinforces the party's organisational structure at the grassroots level.

The event was attended by several coalition party leaders, including the Kadamaian Assemblyman’s Liaison Officer, Carlye Lajimin, who represented Datuk Ewon Benedick, and Demis Rumanti, Head of the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Kadamaian. Youth Leaders within the coalition parties, as well as members of the STAR Sabah Supreme Committee and former Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Herbert Timbun Lagadan, were also present.

The event concluded with implications of STAR Sabah's determination to continue supporting stability and development in the state under the leadership of the party president and the close cooperation between the components of the state government.
