Malaysia Day Celebration at Padang Merdeka Cancelled Due to Unpredictable Weather

KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysia Day 2025 state-level celebration in Sabah, scheduled to take place at Padang Merdeka, has been cancelled owing to unpredictable weather conditions.

Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew, who is also Chairperson of the organising committee, said the decision was made in the interest of public safety.

She advised members of the public to remain vigilant, prioritise their personal safety, and take necessary precautions in view of unforeseen circumstances.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience caused,” she said in a statement today.
