Ewon said each agency and department under MINDET would take turns hosting the various sporting events.
In his brief speech, Ewon also cited the 1992 Thomas Cup final as an example of how sport can unite Malaysians.
“I hope that through this championship, MINDET, under my leadership, will continue to remain united and work together, starting with this MINDET Sports Championship, and subsequently give our best to the people of Sabah through our respective services,” he said.
He also expressed his appreciation to all MINDET personnel, as well as the committee members and secretariat, for their efforts in making the sports championship a success.
