KOTA KINABALU: Osimal Foundation today contributed the first mobile isolation chamber in Sabah to Likas Hospital for treating patients who tested positive for COVID-19.

Its chairman Tan Sri Richard Malanjum said the chamber cost about RM130,000 and could help frontliners at the hospital to deal with the virus.

“We thank the donors, they are very kind to help us, with the spirit of 'rakyat jaga rakyat'.

"Besides this equipment, we are also handing over about 20 units of powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) on Monday which cost RM8,000 each,” he told reporters after handing over the chamber to Likas Hospital director Dr Marcus Netto yesterday.

Meanwhile, Dr Marcus said Likas Hospital needed more medical equipment suppliers including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as the total cases of those infected with COVID-19 in Sabah continue to increase. – Bernama
