LABUAN: Seorang remaja maut selepas kenderaan dinaiki bersama tiga rakannya terbabas dalam kejadian kemalangan di Simpang 20, Kampung Lajau, di sini, awal pagi tadi.
Dalam kejadian kira-kira jam 1.30 pagi itu, mangsa berusia 16 tahun itu disahkan meninggal dunia di tempat kejadian manakala tiga lagi rakannya turut mengalami kecederaan parah.
Komander Operasi Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) Labuan, Mohamad Irwan Jaidin berkata, berdasarkan laporan awal, seorang lagi mangsa berusia 13 tahun dilaporkan tercampak keluar dari kenderaan.
Manakala katanya, dua lagi mangsa berusia 19 dan 20 tahun turut cedera dan dihantar ke Hospital Labuan lebih awal oleh orang awam sebelum pasukan bomba tiba.
“Kereta berkenaan dipercayai hilang kawalan sebelum terbabas. Mangsa yang tersepit dikeluarkan menggunakan peralatan khas.
“Dia disahkan meninggal dunia oleh pegawai perubatan Hospital Labuan sebelum mayat diserahkan kepada polis untuk tindakan lanjut,” katanya.
Menurutnya, pasukan operasi kemudiannya melakukan pemeriksaan lanjut sebelum operasi ditamatkan sepenuhnya pada jam 2.30 pagi.
