SANDAKAN: Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS) proudly announced the successful organisation of its Jejak Mahabbah 2.0 Programme (Social Community Programme), held at Sandakan Prison, recently.
This impactful community service initiative continues the success of Jejak Mahabbah 1.0, which was conducted in 2024.
The one-day programme involved 20 PSS staff members serving as the organising committee, 10 students as supporting members, and 90 participants from Sandakan Prison, comprising both inmates (referred to as prospek) and prison staff.

The main focus of Jejak Mahabbah 2.0 was expanded to cover several areas including General Knowledge, Moral Values, Language, Basic Agriculture, and Fisheries.
Among the knowledge-sharing activities conducted were the Agrotechnology Programme, Aquaculture Technology Programme (covering the basics of aquaponics systems and seedling preparation), Robotic Arm Activity (Robotics and Automation), Women’s Fiqh Session, and a Let’s Stay Healthy Activity.
“This programme is not merely a community service initiative, but a platform for knowledge sharing in support of the ‘TVET for All’ vision,” said Mohd Sahran @ Awang Mohidin, Director of Politeknik Sandakan Sabah.
He added that the programme successfully instilled values of compassion, responsibility, empathy, and volunteerism among participants through the nurturing of noble values and enhanced civic awareness in students.
Politeknik Sandakan Sabah hopes such initiatives will continue to receive support and approval from relevant agencies and local communities to ensure smooth implementation and achievement of the programme’s objectives, particularly in efforts to engage and support Malaysia’s rehabilitation institutions in a sustainable and impactful way.
