KOTA BELUD: The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) through the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) will channel an allocation of RM100,000 to the Tagal Kampung Lingkubang Kota Belud Berhad Tourism Cooperative.

Its minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said the allocation will be used to improve the existing tourism facilities in the village to provide the best comfort and service to tourists.

"In the Annual General Meeting of this cooperative, they have applied for the amount of funds needed to improve some tourism facilities in this village. Therefore the ministry through SKM has agreed to channel an allocation of RM100,000.

"At the same time, as a representative of the Kadamaian people, I will also use the Assembly's allocation to repair or rebuild some facilities that were damaged due to wear and tear and natural disasters.

"The public facilities are like the suspension bridge which is the main use of the residents and farmers of this village, the repair of the dilapidated school pavilion and the buillding concretes on part of Kg Lingkubang's road leading to the main road," he said.

He said this when met by reporters after officiating the 4th Annual General Meeting of the Tagal Kampung Lingkubang Kota Belud Berhad Tourism Cooperative, here, today.

Also present was the Executive Vice Chairman (Policy and Development) of SKM Datuk Umar Sarim Hj Saidin, Sabah SKM Director Matias Kundapin, Chairman of Tagal Kampung Lingkubang Kota Belud Berhad Tourism Cooperative Danial Sagun and members of the cooperative board.

Ewon, who is also Kadamaian State Assemblyman, hopes that all the small development projects in the village can be implemented next year.

"I myself will monitor the implementation to ensure that they are completed according to the set schedule," he said.
