KUALA PENYU: Thirty eight sites have been identified throughout Sabah for upgrading rural markets in the first phase with a fund of RM7 million.

Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick stated that the allocation is intended for the implementation of the first phase of the Rural Market Project in the state.

"For this programme, the District Office will be responsible as the implementing agency to ensure that the project is carried out according to the specified scope of work.

"The District Office will also report the project implementation status every month to the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (MEDC) and the District-level Small Traders and Small Traders Development Council (MPUKPPD) chaired by the District Officer," he said.
