Sabah ethnic day 5.0 records birthday tribute to Head of State

KOTA KINABALU : The commitment to ethnic harmony and cultural values in Sabah was once again demonstrated when the Deputy President of the Kujau Gana Nabai Sabah Ethnic Cultural and Welfare Association (KGNS), Yazid HMohd Hasnan Tawik Mansai @ Charles, attended the Sabah Ethnic Day 5.0 celebration held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Sunday.

Jointly organised with the Sabah State Cultural Board, the event marked the Official 74th Birthday Celebration of the Head of State , Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Musa Aman, a highly symbolic annual occasion honouring the rich diversity and ethnic harmony of the state.

During the event, Yazid also recorded a heartfelt birthday tribute to Tun Musa, expressing deep gratitude and prayers in honour of his humble and people-oriented leadership.

“With deep respect and on behalf of the people of Sabah, I extend my warmest wishes to His Excellency on the occasion of his 74th birthday."

"May Allah SWT continue to bless him with good health, abundant sustenance, and wisdom in continuing to guide our beloved state,” he said when approached after the ceremony.

He further described Tun Musa as a leader who has never distanced himself from the people, frequently participating in programmes organised by the government, NGOs, and local agencies, embodying the spirit of a true Sabahan statesman.

Sabah Ethnic Day 5.0 is more than just a celebration; it serves as a meaningful platform to recognise cultural diversity as a treasured heritage that must be preserved and passed on to future generations.

The event featured cultural performances, ethnic exhibitions, and participation from various local community organisations, reinforcing the core message—unity in diversity is Sabah’s strength.

“Cultural diversity should not divide us, it is the very bond that unites us. This is Sabah’s unique identity, and it must be safeguarded,” said one attendee at the event.
