KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has demonstrated remarkable economic resilience, achieving growth despite various challenges over the past few years, stated Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.

"We have made significant progress in attracting investments across key sectors, both from domestic and international sources," he noted.

"In 2023, Sabah recorded RM11.34 billion in investments, ranking seventh in Malaysia, with 13.3 percent coming from the manufacturing sector alone."

"These success stories showcase Sabah’s ability to attract global players across diverse industries, from high-tech manufacturing to renewable energy products, reinforcing the state's growing reputation as an attractive investment destination," he remarked during the Sabah Top Achievers 2024 Gala Awards Dinner at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) last night.

Deputy Chief Minister II/Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam delievered his speech.

Hajiji said the State Government’s focus on the three foundational pillars as outlined in its development plan – the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya focusing on Agriculture, Industry, and Tourism; Investing in the People and Enhancing Connectivity with a Green Approach, has set us in the right direction to develop Sabah over a five-year period from 2021.

In this respect, he said entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and innovators being honoured at the Sabah Top Achievers Gala Award have played an integral role in this success, driving forward the state’s progress and ensuring that Sabah continues to be a strong and vital contributor to the national economy.

"Going forward, I am certain that events like this Sabah Top Achievers 2024 will elevate Sabah's standing, both nationally and internationally, by celebrating talents and success stories from the state."

May your success inspire future generations to actively contribute towards the growth and progress of Sabah," he said.
