KOTA KINABALU : Sabah is set to host the two-day International Zhineng Qigong Mastery Boot Camp in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the Association of Hwaxia Zhineng Qigong Sabah, announced the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew.

The international event, scheduled for 30–31 August, will offer first-time visitors a unique opportunity to experience Sabah’s natural beauty and vibrant cultural heritage.

“I understand that many of the 300 participants, coming from across Malaysia, Singapore, and China, will be visiting Sabah for the first time. I encourage you to explore and enjoy the wonders our state has to offer,” said Liew following a courtesy visit by a 12-member delegation led by the Association’s Adviser, Datuk Wong Poh Loon @ Teo, on Thursday.

During the visit, the Association’s Chairman, Chong Yun Ming, extended an invitation to the Minister to officiate the 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner, which will be held on 29 August at the Sabah Hakka Banquet Hall. The dinner is expected to draw around 500 attendees, including both locals and international guests.

In a briefing to the Minister, Chong said that hosting the boot camp in Sabah provides an excellent platform to showcase the state's rich cultural diversity, social harmony, and natural attractions, while promoting Sabah as a distinctive tourism destination.

The celebration dinner programme will feature traditional ethnic dances, the launch of the Association’s new website, a cake-cutting ceremony, the presentation of achievement awards, and a jazz harmonica performance by members of the Damai Senior Citizens Association.

Chong highlighted that the Association of Hwaxia Zhineng Qigong Sabah is a non-governmental organisation committed to promoting Zhineng Qigong (ZQ) for personal well-being and overall health. “We aim to share the health benefits of ZQ with communities throughout Sabah and beyond,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman and Event Organising Chairman, Ho Kin Wong, shared the Association’s vision of establishing community health programmes in residential areas equipped with sheltered spaces such as basketball courts and community halls.

Zhineng Qigong, founded by Dr Pang Ming in China, is now practised by millions around the world. Known for its science-based techniques, it offers a natural approach to health and healing—without medication or invasive procedures. Practitioners report relief from pain and improved well-being, often avoiding significant medical expenses.

Also present at the meeting were the Association’s Deputy Chairman Sim Yut Moi, Treasurer Lim Chuk Seng, and Committee Members.
