KOTA KINABALU: The Momogun Rungus Sabah Association (SAMORA), along with the leadership team, has called for an immediate cessation of disputes regarding the implementation of the Official Birthday Celebration for the Head of State Tun Musa Aman.

In a statement, SAMORA President Dato' Dr Jelani Hamdan clarified that the current confusion stems from misstatements regarding the celebration's organisation. He emphasised that the execution of the official birthday celebrations for 2025 adheres strictly to the state constitution and relevant laws.

The association also noted that under the leadership of Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, the Sabah state government has committed no errors or wastefulness in the planning of the event. Efforts have been made to conduct the celebrations with transparency and cost-effectiveness.

According to SAMORA's Secretary-General, Associate Professor Dr Romzi Ationg, previous years saw significantly more activities and higher costs compared to this year’s planned celebration, which features only seven programmes. Notably, expensive events such as 'big bike' activities and 'golf tournaments' have been omitted in favour of more community-focused initiatives, including 'celebrating orphans' and 'religious events.'

Dr Jelani urged an end to the criticism surrounding the celebration, expressing hope that this statement clarifies any misunderstandings.

Furthermore, SAMORA fully supports the recent appointment of His Excellency Tun as the 11th Governor of Sabah. With a strong background as a former Chief Minister and corporate leader, he is deemed highly qualified for the role.

In conclusion, SAMORA stands firmly behind Tun Musa and urges that no further controversies arise regarding his appointment or the upcoming birthday celebration.
