SJKC Yue Min Clinches Third Consecutive MSSD Penampang Win

PENAMPANG: SJKC Yue Min continued its dominance in primary school athletics by securing the overall championship title for the third consecutive year at the 2025 Penampang District Inter-School Athletics Championships (MSSD).
The event, held from 21 to 23 May at the Penampang Sports Complex, saw the school amass four gold and six silver medals to top the primary school category.
Principal Brenden Ling expressed his pride in the achievement, attributing the victory to the dedication of the athletes and the strong support from the school community.

“This success belongs to our athletes, supportive parents, dedicated coaches, as well as the entire Board of Management (LPS) and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
“We will continue to nurture our young talents and aim for greater accomplishments,” he said.
Among the standout performers was Chelcalistha Krisslley Bickley, who struck gold in the girls’ 80m hurdles, equalling the meet record.

In the boys’ under-12 category, Joshua Adam Herry Kong bagged gold in the 100m and silver in the 200m. He also anchored the boys’ 4x100m relay team to a gold medal alongside teammates Jhonston Ryan Julianus, Isaiah Cayden Chin Vun Siong, and Christian Ryden Charles.
Another gold came from Shannon Lee Julie Vincis in the girls’ high jump.
The school’s silver medal haul included events such as the boys’ long jump (Christian Ryden Charles), girls’ long jump (Jowanne Yuen Ching Mei), and girls’ 80m hurdles (Jeannifer Ashley Jemas). Both the girls’ 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams also finished second in their respective races.
The championship concluded with a closing ceremony officiated by Deputy Chief Minister III of Sabah, Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya.
