KOTA KINABALU: Some areas in Kota Kinabalu today were congested in traffics after the State Government announced that cross-border travel between that the state capital, Penampang and Putatan is no longer applicable.
The decision following a surge in daily Covid-19 cases in the three districts. Previously, these districts were categorised under one district.
Some Sabahans have made traffic updates throughout the day revealing the traffic jams that have occurred around the areas.
Images were shared online that saw vehicles stretching out as the police manning roadblocks were conducting their inspection on each car.

An essential service worker who only wants to be known as Elvin said he took the Jalan Kepayan route from Kinarut in the afternoon to go to work and was stuck in jam for more than two hours.
He revealed that normally it would only take him about 30 minutes to reach his office at Jalan Nenas.
"The congestion at Jalan Kepayan near the Kota Kinabalu International Airport heading to the city centre stretched more than three kilometres.
"I don't understand why there were so many vehicles on the road today. We are still under Movement Control Order (MCO).
"This just shows how so many people are still not complying with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)," he said when speaking to Nabalu News.
It was learned that roadblocks have been set up in several areas like Jalan Bukit Padang, Jalan Kobusak, Jalan Penampang By-Pass, Jalan Sabindo Lok Kawi, and Jalan Kolombong, among others.
