Village harvest festival enhance unity and friendship

PENAMPANG: The Political Secretary to the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative (MEDC) Carl Mosoom presented funds to go towards the Harvest Festival in Kg.Kobouvang Kapayan today.

On hand to receive the funds was Christopher Suis the organising chairman of the event.

He said the funds will go towards items used towards making the event merrier.

According to him, the village comprises 400 households, all of whom are expected to join in the celebration.

Meanwhile, Carl said besides celebrating the cultural norm of the community it also enable them to commemorate and celebrate the end of harvest.

'This will also foster unity and rapport among the community," he said.

The harvest Festival celebration in that village will be held on May 4 and 5.

MEDC Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick is expected to be the guest of honour for the event. Other notables expected to grace the event are Jannie Lasimbang State Assemblywoman for Kapayan among others.

Activities include Harvest Queen Unduk Ngadau Competition and Singing Competition. There will also be a traditional food contest.

Other attractions include lucky draw.
