PUTATAN: Prospective hajj pilgrims scheduled to perform the fifth pillar of Islam have been reminded to prioritise safety and health factors throughout this year's hajj season.
Putatan Member of Parliament Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya said pilgrims must be mindful of instructions and regulations set by Tabung Haji Malaysia to ensure smooth worship.
"During this hajj season, departing pilgrims will face not only large crowds but also other factors like weather conditions and tight schedules."

"Therefore, we advise prioritising safety and health throughout this year's hajj; we pray for an accepted hajj mabrur," he said.
Shahelmey said this after presenting contributions to 50 prospective pilgrims at the Duyufurrahman (Guests of Allah) event for the Putatan parliamentary level at Putatan District Mosque today.
Also present were Tanjung Keramat assemblyman Shah Alfie Yahya and Putatan Parliament special officer Mohd Sufian Matin.
"Alhamdulillah, today we contribute a small token of goodwill to the hajj pilgrims heading to the Holy Land starting 11 May."
"This event is our CSR programme to honour Allah's guests from Putatan bound for Mecca," he added.
