53 Residents of Kg Kitagas Receive Aid

SANDAKAN: A total of 53 residents of Kampung Kitagas Batu 27 received assistance under the Special Assistance Programme, officiated by Nominated Assemblyman Datuk Jaffari Waliam yesterday.

The aid, which comprised food baskets, zinc sheets and plywood, was distributed to recipients from the B40 income group during a ceremony held at the residence compound of Sabri Bin Ladjarudin.

The programme was organised by the Service Centre of the Nominated Assemblyman in collaboration with the Kitagas Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).

Jaffari said the initiative was funded through his personal allocation as part of efforts to ensure that rural communities are not left out of the attention of elected representatives.

Programme organiser Mahadir Abd Manaf said villagers had expressed gratitude for the concern shown, while Kitagas JKKK chairperson Daunah Surat noted that the assemblyman’s presence in personally delivering the aid reflected his sincerity and commitment to the community.

A recipient remarked that the assistance would help ease the financial burden on families, particularly with daily food needs, as well as provide materials to carry out essential house repairs.
