AGIBOT Launches in Malaysia, Regional Strategy

KUALA LUMPUR: AGIBOT, a leading robotics company specialising in embodied intelligence, announced recently, the commencement of a series of strategic initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region in 2026, beginning with a landmark launch event in Malaysia.

The event was held at i-City, Selangor, and was attended by AGIBOT's senior leadership team, alongside Malaysian government officials, partners, customers, and media representatives. It underscored AGIBOT’s long-term commitment to building partnerships and advancing automation throughout Malaysia and the wider region.

Founded in 2023, AGIBOT’s vision is encapsulated in its name: building robots for the AGI era. Rather than developing single-purpose machines, AGIBOT focuses on creating embodied intelligent robots capable of learning, adapting, and evolving in real-world environments.

In 2025, AGIBOT achieved several significant milestones demonstrating its leadership in humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence. Notably, it rolled out its 5,168th mass-produced humanoid robot, showcasing industrial-scale manufacturing capability and readiness for large-scale commercial deployment. The company also advanced embodied AI through real-world reinforcement learning, enabling its robots to be trained and deployed directly within physical production settings.

As a result, AGIBOT was ranked No. 1 globally by Omdia. According to Omdia’s 'General-Purpose Embodied Intelligent Robot 2026' report, AGIBOT led worldwide in humanoid robot shipments and market share in 2025, delivering over 5,100 units and capturing 39% of the global market.

The launch event on 13 January also marked the grand opening of the AI World Experience Centre at i-City, officiated by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Chang Lih Kang. Developed in partnership with I-Berhad, one of Malaysia’s leading investment and property development firms, and the master developer of i-City, the centre integrates AGIBOT’s world-class robotics and embodied AI across property, hospitality, tourism, and urban life in Malaysia’s premier digital city. The collaboration also emphasises human wellness and longevity, applying AI and robotics not only to productivity and automation but also to health optimisation and quality of life. This centre represents the first phase of a broader, long-term partnership between AGIBOT and I-Berhad.
