BANDAU: The Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) Bandau Division has reaffirmed its firm support for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Government and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, following a collective decision made by grassroots leaders across the constituency.

STAR Bandau Division Chief Ardino Diris’s announcement to remain aligned with GRS has received unanimous backing from divisional leaders, local committees, and community representatives. According to STAR Bandau Information Chief Felix Kain, the move reflects the majority will of the grassroots, not an individual decision.

“The Division Chief did not act alone. This decision was reached after careful discussion and consensus among leaders from all 10 Polling District Centres and more than 50 Community Leaders’ Committees,” Felix said in a statement.

He emphasised that the Bandau Division remains united in supporting the current state government’s development direction, which has benefited the people of Bandau and strengthened political stability in Sabah.

“Good leadership is built on the people’s voice. The GRS Government has shown commitment and inclusivity in its governance, and the people in Bandau want that continuity,” he said.

Felix also addressed internal differences within the division, describing them as normal in politics but stressing the importance of discipline and unity.

“What matters now is that we stay focused on serving the people. Minor disagreements must not distract us from our shared mission to support GRS and continue developing Bandau,” he added.

He dismissed suggestions that the decision to remain with GRS was divisive, saying it was instead a reaffirmation of loyalty to a functioning and effective coalition government.

Felix further explained that 12 of the 22 Bandau Division committee members, including elected and appointed leaders, have officially expressed their continued support for Ardino’s leadership and the GRS coalition.

“This reflects the strength of grassroots unity. The majority in Bandau believe that staying with GRS is the best path for continued development and political stability,” he said.

Felix also expressed confidence that STAR President Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan would understand and respect the division’s stance, which is rooted in the collective will of the grassroots.

“Our President has always been a rational and understanding leader. The Division Chief’s decision is consistent with the wishes of the people who want STAR to continue playing a key role within GRS,” he said.

He called on all STAR members in Bandau to move forward together under one vision, unity, service, and continued cooperation under the GRS government.

“The struggle for Bandau and STAR Sabah is our shared responsibility. Let us stay united, serve sincerely, and strengthen our role in GRS for the benefit of the people,” Felix concluded.
