Bank Rakyat Financing available for sports entrepreneurs - Ewon

PENAMPANG: Entrepreneurs in the sports industry can apply for special financing under the Sports Industry Financing Scheme (SPIS) implemented by Bank Rakyat.
Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said that the scheme is designed to support entrepreneurs in the sports industry by providing them with necessary working capital to enhance the success and growth of their businesses.
"The Sports Industry Financing Scheme is a key initiative under the MADANI 2024 Budget. Bank Rakyat, an agency operating under the purview of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC), has been entrusted with the role of implementing this scheme.
"I hope that with the presence of SPIS, it will create better opportunities for entrepreneurs who want to venture into sports entrepreneurship or expand their existing businesses in this sector," he said.
Speaking when officiating the opening of Kyro Fitness, a state-of-the-art gym centre in Penampang, today, he lauded the opening of the gym centre, which can provide services towards a healthy lifestyle among the residents in the Penampang district.
"I fully support the opening of Kyro Fitness not only in the context of entrepreneurial development and job creation, but equally important is the promotion of a healthy lifestyle through this center," Ewon, who is also the Penampang Member of Parliament said.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Kyro Fitness, Jason Tham, stated that the gym center has been operational for the past four months and currently has a membership of over 400 people.
Also present at the inauguration were the Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship of Sabah, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, and the Deputy Chairman of the Penampang District Council, Chong Fit Pah.-ends
