Bank Rakyat food hampers benefit 670 B40 families

KOTA KINABALU: Six hundred and seventy families will benefit from a food donation programme conducted by Bank Rakyat today.


The food baskets donated through the programme named 'Saya Mau Kaamatan 2024' amount to a total of RM33,500 for the entire state of Sabah.


During today's programme launch, Saini Hammade, the Bank Rakyat Director for Borneo Territory, presented the food baskets to five representatives from the Tamparuli area.


After the event, he informed that the 670 recipients were identified through their various branches across Sabah.


He stated that the food baskets were intended to provide assistance to festival participants from the B40 group.


He highlighted that this programme has been running for the past three years and has significantly benefited the target group over the years.


Saini emphasised that the programme, held in conjunction with the Harvest Festival celebration, underscores Bank Rakyat's dedication to the economic prosperity and well-being of the community throughout the region.


He added that this dedication is in line with the Government's mission and vision to cultivate a prosperous and harmonious civil society.


According to him, they had promoted the products and services of Bank Rakyat in exhibitions through various Programme including those held by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Coporative.


Therefore, through this initiative, he aims to provide some financial relief and enhance the joy of families as they come together to celebrate the Harvest Festival.


This programme was executed in collaboration with 15 Bank Rakyat branches in Sabah, covering areas such as Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan, Likas, Jalan Tuaran, Keningau, Labuan, Lahad Datu, Kota Belud, Penampang, Beaufort, Kota Marudu, Putatan, Semporna, and Ranau.
