Bugis community gathering attended by Assemblyman

KENINGAU: The Santai Bersama Komuniti Bugis Keningau (Bugis Community gathering) event, held recently at the Kampung Banjar Multipurpose Hall was graced by Assemblyman Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman.

The Liawan State Assemblyman, reaffirmed his commitment to the community development regardless of background.

Such event served as a platform for Annuar to present the achievements of his service throughout his term, including the construction of concrete roads, funeral aid, drainage maintenance, the building of a surau (prayer hall), and the appointment of young leaders from within the Bugis community.

According to him, the Bugis community, which was once often sidelined, is now receiving due attention as a result of the people’s support and trust.

“This struggle does not end with mere promises, but is translated into tangible results,” he said.

The gathering itself reflected a spirit of kinship and unity, aligning with the message of harmony conveyed during the event, subtly echoed in a traditional Bugis song Sipakario-rio.

“Iyaro padatta, sipakario-rio, sipatokkongang...”

(We are family, strengthening one another, respecting each other...)"

Annuar also called for these values of brotherhood and solidarity to be continuously strengthened to ensure the continuity of development and the shared wellbeing of the local community.
