KOTA KINABALU: Joint development in Sabah’s agricultural sector must be driven by close cooperation between the Federal Government and the State Government, said DAP Sabah Deputy Chairman Datuk Chan Foong Hin.
He said such development is further strengthened by strong working relationships between leaders and policymakers at both levels of government.
Chan said he was honoured to receive a delegation from the Sabah Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry (MAFFI), led by its Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar, during a visit to Wisma Tani yesterday.

According to him, Jamawi and his team demonstrated a high level of commitment during discussions with the Federal Ministry on the direction and future development of Sabah’s agricultural industry.
“The proactive and open approach shown during the discussions is commendable and should be emulated,” he said.
Chan expressed confidence that the meeting not only strengthened existing mutual understanding, but also paved the way for a more positive direction and more structured strategic cooperation between the Sabah State Government and the Federal Government, for the benefit and well-being of the state.
He also conveyed his highest appreciation to Datuk Jamawi, MAFFI Permanent Secretary Datuk Leonard Stephen Poyong, Assistant Minister I Datuk Hj Ruslan Muharam, Assistant Minister II Datuk Hendrus Anding, and MAFFI officers who paid a courtesy visit to his office following their meeting with the Federal Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad Sabu.
