Chief Minister Attends 19th IPDAS Convocation Ceremony

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Head of State Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Musa Haji Aman, officiated the 19th Convocation Ceremony of the Sabah Institute of Islamic Studies and Dakwah (IPDAS) at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Monday.

The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, arrived at 9:20 a.m., ahead of the arrival of Tun Musa, who subsequently officiated the ceremony.

The event was also attended by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Senator Dato’ Setia Dr Haji Mohd Na’im Mokhtar; Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation and State Executive Councillor for Religious Affairs and Education, Datuk Dr Haji Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif; and Director-General of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Dato’ Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee.

The award ceremony involved 305 graduates who successfully completed the Diploma in Islamic Dakwah, the Certificate in Islamic Studies, and the Foundation Certificate in Malaysian Islamic Studies.

Also presented were the IPDAS Alumni Award, the Yang di-Pertua of the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) Award, the JAKIM Director-General’s Award, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Award, the Chief Minister of Sabah Award, and the Gold Medal of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah.
