KUALA LUMPUR: UNIQLO Malaysia has contributed monetary and clothing aid, totalling over RM42,000, to support individuals affected by the Kampung Bahagia fire in Sandakan, Sabah, where a major blaze destroyed approximately 1,000 homes and displaced thousands of residents.

UNIQLO’s contribution was channelled through its long-term partner, the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA), which is supporting affected communities at temporary evacuation centres (Pusat Pemindahan Sementara, PPS).

The donation includes new AIRism innerwear and pre-loved clothing to help meet the immediate needs of displaced families.

The fire, which broke out on 19 April in Kampung Bahagia, spread rapidly through the densely built water village, forcing many residents to evacuate with little to no belongings.

In the aftermath, access to clean clothing and basic essentials has become an urgent need for those affected.
