KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor presented a RM5,000 state government incentive to Sabah Muay Thai athlete Emmabell Cassandra, in recognition of her outstanding achievement on the international stage.

The presentation took place at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister also extended congratulations and expressed pride in Emmabell’s accomplishment, which brought honour to Sabah and the nation after she won the women’s category at the Byon Combat Showbiz 7 championship held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) last Friday.

He said the success demonstrates the ability of state athletes to compete and excel internationally, inspiring the younger generation to pursue sports.

The event was also attended by State Minister of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, State Assistant Minister of Rural Development Datuk Juil Nuatim, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy Datuk Mansur Haji Asun.
