KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor has called for more education, entrepreneurial, and leadership programmes to empower women across Sabah.
He commended the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) for partnering with agencies, especially the Sabah Women's Affairs Department (JHEWA), to champion women's empowerment initiatives.
“I want to see more women actively engaged in economic, educational, and leadership roles through MPWS-led programmes,” he said during a meeting with an MPWS delegation at Menara Kinabalu today, led by Chairperson Datuk Dr Hajah Rosmawati Haji Lasuki.
Rosmawati briefed the Chief Minister on MPWS activities, emphasising education, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Highlights included the Global Women @ Sabah (Glow@Sabah) programme, which identifies talented women leaders and nurtures them to full potential. She also outlined plans for the State Women’s Day celebration, to be hosted by MPWS on 9 September this year.
Also present were Deputy Chairperson Datuk Hajah Fauziah DSP Haji Abu Bakar Titingan, Secretary JHEWA Director Haslina Ismail, and MPWS committee members.
