COVID-19: 450 NEW CASES IN SABAH, THREE DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 450 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total cumulative tally to 41,899 cases, said Minister of Local Goverment and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun.
In his statement giving the daily update on the pandemic, Masidi said that Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of cases with 60 cases followed by Lahad Datu (51), Penampang (50), Sandakan (44), Putatan (36), Kudat (29), Tawau (27), Kota Belud (22), Keningau (19), Kunak (19), Papar (16), Kinabatangan (11) and Beaufort (10).
Other districts that reported singe-digit new cases include Tambunan with nine cases, Tenom (nine), Tuaran (six), Sipitang (six), Kalabakan (five), Semporna (five), Kuala Penyu (five), Kota Marudu (four), Ranau (three), Tongod (two), Beluran (one) and Nabawan (one).
The only districts that did not record a new infection today are Pitas and Telupid.
Unfortunately, Sabah recorded three new fatalities due to Covid-19, each in Kudat, Tawau and Papar.
Meanwhile, Masidi said that a total of 306 Covid-19 patients had recovered and were allowed to be discharged from the hospital, which brings the total of recovery and discharged cases in the state to 37,964 and the current active cases to 2,833.
"A total of 753 patients are receiving to treatment in the hospital while 2,080 in quarantine centres.
"Seventy four of them are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 74 of them ventilated."
