Covid-19: Malaysia logs 14,554 new cases today

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 14,554 new Covid-19 cases was registered in Malaysia today (Sept 24), pushing the tally of nationwide infections to 2,171,232.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sarawak reported the most number of cases today with 2,825, followed by Selangor (2,244), Johor (1,807) and Sabah (1,273).
Meanwhile, 1,231 new cases were reported in Penang while 1,144 new cases were reported in Perak, 910 in Kelantan, 690 in Terengganu, 598 in Pahang, 401 in Melaka, 271 in Kuala Lumpur, 157 in Perlis and 30 in Putrajaya.
Labuan did not record any new cases.
A total of 16,751 recoveries were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of nationwide recoveries to 1,950,467.
In the intensive care unit (ICU), 599 out of 1,049 patients require ventilator support.
A total of 20 new clusters were also detected in the last 24 hours with 10 of them were identified as workplace clusters, nine community clusters and on was a high-risk group cluster.
