COVID-19: NABAWAN REGISTERS NEW JAMBATAN 1 BOMBALAI CLUSTER

KOTA KINABALU: Another Covid-19 cluster was registered in Nabawan, known as the Jambatan 1 Bombalai cluster, which recorded four new positive cases today.
In a statement today, Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said, the new cluster now has a cumulative total of 15 positive cases.
"The index case of this cluster was of a 59-year-old woman living in Kampung Jambatan 1 Bombalai in the Merotai area in Kalabakan district.
"She showed symptoms and tested positve after a screening test in one of the medical centres in Tawau on Feb 26," he said.
According to Masidi who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, the index case organised a gathering for aqiqah at her home on Feb 20.
"From 41 close contacts that have been screened since March 1, 14 have tested positive. Close contact screening and cause of infection is still being actively conducted," he said.
