KOTA KINABALU: A new Covid-19 cluster has been registered in Sabah today involving the districts of Kota Kinabalu and Penampang.
Sabah's Covid-19 official spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said the cluster has a cumulative total of nine cases with two recorded in Kota Kinabalu and seven in Penampang.
"The index case of the cluster is a 48-year-old housewife who tested positive on May 10 after exhibiting symptoms of infection. She has been warded in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
"Based on the early investigation, she is believed to have contracted the virus while attending a religious meeting on April 1 and May 5 at the Sacred Heart Parish in Jalan Menteri, Kota Kinabalu," he said in a statement today.
Masidi who is also the Minister of Local Government and Housing said close contact screening activities are still being actively conducted.
