COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 401 CASES, ONE CLUSTER IN KENINGAU

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded a total of 401 new Covid-19 cases today, while the number of active cases soared to 2,506.


Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said, over half of the new cases were detected through close contact screening.


"Seventy-two cases were from symptomatic screening and new cluster, while 31 were from existing clusters and 43 from various categories," he said in a statement here, today.


With the latest addition, the total number of reported Covid-19 cases in Sabah has reached to 39,854 cases since March last year.


"Four death cases were also reported today; two in Sandakan and another two in Kota Kinabalu. Condolence to the affected families," Masidi added.


Today, a new cluster was also identified in the state - the 'Kauran Cluster' in Keningau.


"Kauran Cluster recorded a total of 10 new positive cases, and now it has a cumulative0 total of 55 cases," the minister disclosed.
