KUALA LUMPUR: DAP Wanita has launched the Women in Politics Outstanding Media Award, a new initiative celebrating impactful journalism that highlights the contributions, challenges, and journeys of women in politics.

Open for submissions from 1 January to 31 December 2025, the award seeks to amplify female voices in political narratives and encourage broader representation in the media landscape.

The award is offered across four language categories: Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, and Tamil. Eligible entries may include written articles, television news segments, YouTube content, podcasts, or social media productions.

Each language category offers a Grand Prize of RM3,000 for one winner, and three Excellence Awards of RM1,000 each.

To qualify, submissions must be published or broadcast in 2025 and focus on women in political roles. Themes may include biographical features on female politicians, stories of overcoming gender barriers in politics, contributions to public policy, leadership within local councils or village committees, and cross-sector influence in areas such as environmental advocacy, education, or social welfare.

Entries must be submitted by 15 January 2026 to media-awards-wanita@dapmalaysia.org. Written entries should be submitted in PDF format and include a screenshot or link to the original publication. Video or audio entries must be shared via YouTube, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Each submission should include the author’s full name, job title, media organisation, and a brief 100-word description of the work.
