KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) has temporarily suspended parking operations in the city area during throughout the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.

Mayor Datuk Nordin Siman said, the suspension has begun since October 9 and will go on until October 26.

“This means that no parking charges will be imposed throughout the CMCO period. This is in line with the Kota Kinabalu City (Provisions of Parking Places) (Coupon Parking) By-Laws 2014,” he said in a statement here, Wednesday.

Nordin however said that law enforcement is still ongoing for parking offences like parking on the shoulder of the road, parking in non-designated areas and parking in a manner that obstruct traffic or double parking.

He added that the enforcement is to ensure that vehicles and traffic flow in the city area continue to run smoothly.

“Previous parking offences compound can still be paid through the DBKK e-Services,” he said.
