DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD BASKETS WILL BE MONITORED: SHAHELMEY

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Ministry will continue to monitor the process of food baskets distribution to the targeted groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, said its minister Shahelmey Yahya.
He said, the state government has distributed a total of 12,313 food baskets to the targeted groups throughout the state to date.
He added that, the federal National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) have also distributed a total of 6,300 food baskets and will channel more.
"We will be distributing the food baskets to areas under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) and Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO)," he said in a statement here, Wednesday.
According to Shahelmey, the distribution of food baskets will be carried out in stages as CMCO takes place state-wide and that quarantined families will be prioritised.
He also advised Sabahans, especially those in the 11 red zones, to reduce their movement to help break the Covid-19 chain.
