KUALA LUMPUR: EVE Energy Co., Ltd. and its partners have signed a contract for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) solar-plus-storage project, with Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof in attendance to witness this significant milestone. This marks EVE Energy’s official entry into Malaysia’s vital infrastructure sector with its 628Ah energy storage batteries and a 5MWh energy storage system, supporting the nation’s green and smart energy transition.

The 10MW/36MWh ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plus BESS project represents EVE’s first AC/DC integrated energy storage deployment in Malaysia. Equipped with 628Ah batteries and a highly integrated architecture, the system features a planned 5MWh storage capacity. It will be utilised in scenarios such as renewable energy grid connection, peak shaving, and grid frequency regulation. Once operational in 2027, in conjunction with a 36MWp solar farm, it will provide stable green power to KLIA’s main terminal.

“We are honoured to supply power to a world-class transportation hub like KLIA,” said Oscar Chan, General Manager of EVE Energy’s International Energy Storage Sales. “We will leverage our technical expertise and project experience to ensure the high-quality delivery of this project.”

As Southeast Asia’s second-busiest airport, KLIA serves six million passengers annually. In line with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and carbon reduction commitments, EVE’s safe and efficient storage solutions are expected to reduce approximately 42,006 tonnes of CO₂ each year, supporting KLIA’s renewable energy targets and net-zero ambitions for 2030.

Looking ahead, EVE Energy remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships across Southeast Asia, collaborating with global stakeholders to accelerate the clean energy transition and build a sustainable energy ecosystem.
