Ewon attends the blessing of Evangelists Chapel, St Michael Penampang

PENAMPANG: The Blessing Mass of the Evangelists Chapel, St Michael Penampang, was officiated by His Grace the Archbishop of Kota Kinabalu, Archbishop John Wong, here today.

Deputy Chief Minister III and Sabah Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick, who is also the Penampang Member of Parliament, congratulated the leadership of St Michael Penampang Parish and expressed his appreciation to all parties who contributed to the construction of the chapel.

“Congratulations to the leadership of St Michael Parish and thank you to all contributors who made the construction of this chapel possible,” he said.

Ewon said that during his previous tenure in the Federal Cabinet, his office had assisted in facilitating and channelling an allocation of RM186,000 under the Non-Islamic Houses of Worship Assistance Programme (RIBI) for the construction of the chapel.

In addition to attending the blessing Mass, he also carried out a site visit to the ongoing construction project of Tadika Harmoni St Michael Penampang, which is being actively implemented through public donations.

Ewon said the project still requires financial support from the community to ensure that construction can continue and be completed as planned.

“Once fully completed, this building will be able to accommodate up to 500 pupils, thereby serving as an important platform for the early development of human capital in Penampang,” he said.

He expressed hope that more parties would come forward to support educational initiatives for the local community, for the benefit of future generations.
