KOTA BELUD: Kadamaian State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick continues his initiative to provide more food baskets to the people in his constituency and today, it was channelled through churches and mosques.

The aid has been distributed to local church leaders and mosque committee members as well as the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) branches in Kadamaian.

“Earlier, several church leaders, representatives from the mosque, as well as Kadamaian Upkp branches have contacted me and the Kadamaian Assembly Service Centre regarding the food aid for needy families.

“Therefore, it is my responsibility as an assemblyperson to find initiatives to help these families," said Ewon.

“Other than from me, the service centre also receives donations in the form of food items from various kind-hearted individuals. Thus, we need to channel these aids to the people, especially those who are greatly affected by the pandemic,” he added.

Among the houses of worship that received the aid today are Kg Taginambur SIB Church, Kg Lasau Podi Mosque, and catechists of Catholic churches in Mukim Kelawat, well as Upko branches in Kg Bundu Paka, Kg Bayayat, Kg Piasau, Kg Kelawat, and Kg Singgah Mata, among others.
