KOTA KINABALU: Kadamaian State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick remains committed to helping the development of churches and houses of worship as well as other developments in the constituency.

He said, although the assemblyman's allocation given to each opposition elected representative is quite limited, it would not prevent him from continuing to serve the people.

"The allocation does not come from the government alone but we can try to find financial resources from various parties, including working with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and corporate companies," he said after receiving a courtesy call from the Area Heads of the Kadamaian Borneo Evangelical Church (SIB) at the Assemblyman's Service Office, here, today.

The visiting church leaders were Pastor Phool Tempisal (Head of SIB Taginambur area), Pastor Samry Maudin (Head of SIB Nahaba area) and Pastor Thomas representing SIB Pekan area.

During the visit, Ewon presented a contribution from the Assemblyman's Sentuhan Kasih programme to the administration of the SIB churches.

"I hope this contribution will help ease the burden and help the church to implement the administrative needs of their areas, activities or programmes," he added.

He also stated that he will hold discussions with leaders from other church denominations, such as the Seventh Day Adventists and Roman Catholics, on the needs of development and administration.
