KOTA KINABALU: Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Seri Christina Liew visited flood and landslide victims in her constituency and provided assistance on Monday.

That morning, a pre-dawn landslide struck the area, causing a tree to fall and hit a water tank, which subsequently crashed into the wall of an SMJ house, resulting in structural damage off Jalan Bukit Nenas.

Liew met with the homeowner, Crispus Chong Yun Thau, and his wife, Tsen Swee Len, who recounted the incident. She advised residents to proactively fell trees near their homes as a preventive measure to mitigate future risks.

Earlier in the day, the Assemblywoman accompanied Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on his rounds to assess the flood situation and to meet those displaced and housed at the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) in Kg Sarapung, Penampang.

Later, Liew, together with Remysta Taylor, CEO of Sabapak Eco Sdn Bhd, visited residents affected by the flooding who had sought refuge at the PPS in Kg Inobong, Penampang.
