KUALA LUMPUR: The Minister Of Tourism , Arts and Culture (MOCAT) , Datuk Tiong King Sing, extended an invitation to Germany’s renowned luxury travel agency, WINDROSE Finest Travel GmbH, to visit Malaysia and explore opportunities to develop customised high-end travel packages.
During his recent visit to Germany to attend the ITB Berlin tourism exhibition, Tiong held a productive meeting with the WINDROSE team, which specialises in bespoke luxury travel experiences and collaborates with around 66 partner agencies across Germany.
The agency focuses on private travel arrangements for high-income travellers, with an increasing global preference for experience-based luxury tourism.
“Malaysia offers a wealth of attractions that perfectly align with the current trends in European luxury travel, which emphasise authentic experiences, nature exploration, and cultural immersion,” Tiong said.
“I warmly invite WINDROSE to visit Malaysiaparticularly Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Melaka, and other states, to experience our island resorts, rainforests, and cultural heritage firsthand. Such visits will enable them to craft bespoke packages tailored to our high-end visitors from Germany.”
He highlighted that Germany has a population of over 80 million people, but only approximately 188,928 tourists visited Malaysia in 2025, indicating significant growth potential in the luxury tourism sector. “There remains vast opportunity to deepen cooperation, especially in the high-value segment of luxury travel,” he added.
Addressing current market trends, Tiong noted that Europeans are increasingly seeking unique, experience-rich holidays, encompassing private villas, wildlife safaris, and cultural narratives.
“This trend resonates strongly with Malaysia’s natural beauty and cultural diversity,” he said.
He also emphasised that tourism is more than just sightseeing; it serves as a vital bridge to promote cultural understanding. “We are actively promoting our cultural assets as high-value tourism products, so more visitors can enjoy meaningful and memorable experiences in Malaysia,” he added.
The Minister expressed hope that future collaborations would involve familiarisation visits and joint promotional activities, further strengthening Malaysia’s position as a premier luxury travel destination in Europe.
