KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) remains resolute in the face of recent allegations of wrongdoing involving its assemblymen.
GRS Information Chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai emphasised that if these claims are an attempt to undermine the coalition, they will not diminish GRS's commitment to serving the people.
He highlighted that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, who is also the GRS chairman, has called on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations. The Chief Minister has assured that the GRS-led government will fully cooperate, as they have nothing to hide.
“If these allegations are meant to distract us, we will not allow them to derail our mission,” Joniston asserted.
He added that transparency and accountability are core values of GRS, which will continue to uphold these principles.
With state elections approaching next year, Joniston said that such allegations raises questions if they are intended at tarnishing GRS’s achievements.
“Despite the noise, GRS remains focused on what truly matters, which is advancing Sabah and improving the lives of its people,” he said.
