PENAMPANG : Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor accompanied the Head of State of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, in officiating the mongomot ceremony – a traditional paddy harvesting ritual – followed by striking the gong seven times as a symbolic declaration of the official closing of the 2025 State-level Kaamatan Festival at Hongkod Koisaan KDCA here on Saturday.


The mongomot ceremony was also joined by KDCA President, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan; Deputy Chief Minister II, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Joachim Gunsalam; Deputy Chief Minister III, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya; Sabah Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun; and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.


Also in attendance was the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Juliah Salag.


On Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the State-level launch of the Kaamatan Festival at KDCA.
