Industry Excellence Awards to Boost Manufacturing Sector

KOTA KINABALU: The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Transport  announced the winners of the Sabah Industry Excellence Awards (AKIS) 2024/2025 for manufacturing and manufacturing-related services companies operating in Sabah during a reception for the event yesterday.


The awards programme aims to recognise outstanding industry performance, promote quality practices, and encourage the production of high-value, globally competitive products. The initiative reflects the State Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Sabah’s industrial sector and enhancing its contribution to the region’s economic growth.


The primary objectives were to recognise organisational excellence, promote quality and best practices, and support companies producing competitive, high-value products.

Participants in the first category included Ns Field Sdn Bhd, Nyek Seng Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, Aryana Food, Rds Juta Food Industries Sdn Bhd, Tk Legacy, Bt Pest Terminate, Chin Wui Trading, and Brown Eyes Production. This category is for local SMEs with sales under RM1 million.


The second category was for local companies with sales under RM5 million. Participants included One Roof FB Sdn Bhd, Best Solutions, T Tech Solution Borneo Sdn Bhd, Rosmie Snack Industry Sdn Bhd, Kerupuk Lelek Enterprise Sdn Bhd, Polar Bear Engineering Sdn Bhd, and Tong Fah Coffee Factory.


The third category was for local companies with sales under RM10 million. The participating companies were Twinine Sdn Bhd, Secov Engineering Sdn Bhd, Alam Segar Industri Makanan Sdn Bhd, and Yit Foh Coffee Factory Sdn Bhd.


The fourth category was for local companies with sales between RM10 million and RM25 million. Participants included Yun Fung Sang Group Sdn Bhd and Kedai Emas Osheen Jaya Sdn Bhd.


The fifth category was for local companies with sales above RM25 million up to RM50 million. Participants included Borneo Flexible Packaging Sdn Bhd, Axtrada (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Onaki Sdn Bhd, Kilang Mee Lung Far Sdn Bhd, and Rich Inspirations Sdn Bhd.


The sixth category comprised companies with sales exceeding RM50 million, including foreign-owned businesses, represented by Colform Sdn Bhd and Jetsin Sdn Bhd.


The winners were: 


- Category 1: Brown Eyes Production 


- Category 2: The Best Solution Management Sdn Bhd 


- Category 3: Twinine Sdn Bhd 


- Category 4: Kedai Emas Osheen Jaya Sdn Bhd 


- Category 5: Onaki Sdn Bhd 


- Category 6: Jetsin Sdn Bhd


The event's guest of honour Minister of Industry Entrepreneurship and Transport Datuk Ewon Benedick was on hand to present the Awards.


In his speech he said this was not merely an awards ceremony, but a strategic initiative that has successfully produced Sabah’s local companies that are more productive, effective, and innovative
