KOTA KINABALU: À Retired Headmasters and Teachers Association should be established in Kiulu as a platform for former educators to continue contributing their ideas towards community development.
Kiulu Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, in proposing this said the experience and insights of retired teachers remain relevant and can be harnessed to help drive educational and community progress in Kiulu.
“With this association, retired teachers will have a dedicated platform to continue serving the community and to pool their ideas in efforts to advance development in Kiulu.
“Their experience is invaluable in ensuring that every step of development meets the needs of the community,” he said at the Lambaian Kasih Jasamu ceremony held on Thursday to honour five retired headmasters from the Kiulu and Nabalu Zones.
The event was jointly organised by the Kiulu Zone Headmasters Association and the Nabalu Zone Headmasters Association, with the cooperation of the Kiulu ADUN Service Centre.
Joniston also expressed his appreciation to all headmasters and teachers for their dedication in educating the children of Kiulu, describing their contribution as a vital foundation for the development of the sub-district.
He stressed that the Kiulu ADUN Service Centre consistently prioritises educational needs and supports programmes that benefit both teachers and students.
Joniston further emphasised that collaboration between community leaders and teachers, including retirees, is crucial to sustaining Kiulu’s ongoing development transformation. He therefore invited them to continue working together as partners of the Kiulu ADUN Service Centre.
At the ceremony, Joniston presented certificates of appreciation to the five retired headmasters as a token of gratitude for their service and contributions.
