PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced a recall affecting over 35,000 vehicles, including Toyota and Mercedes-Benz cars, as well as Honda and Suzuki motorcycles, due to safety concerns.
In a Facebook post today, JPJ detailed the affected models:
- 24,345 Toyota Vios(March 2023 – February 2024 models)
- 205 Honda CBR250RR CBR250S3A motorcycles (2022 model)
- 220 Suzuki V-STROM800DE motorcycles (2023 model)
- 125 Suzuki Burgman Street Ex motorcycles (2024 model)
- Various models of Mercedes-Benz vehicles
The recall aims to prevent potential accidents stemming from structural or equipment defects.
“Ensuring vehicle safety is crucial for the comfort and well-being of owners during travel,” JPJ stated.
“Naturally, owners would prefer not to drive vehicles with technical issues that could jeopardise lives. Manufacturers will perform the necessary repairs at no cost to owners.”
JPJ also mentioned that automotive manufacturers will reach out to affected owners to schedule inspection appointments.
Collaboration between vehicle owners and manufacturers is essential to efficiently complete this recall and resolve any issues as quickly as possible, JPJ stated.
