KOTA KINABALU: A total of two localities in Kota Belud will be placed under a 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting Tuesday (June 29) until July 12.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the two localities involved are Kampung Nahaba Tegudon and Kampung Linau.
“In Kampung Nahaba Tegudon, nine positive Covid-19 cases were detected after 48 individuals screened.
“For Kampung Linau, a screening conducted by health officers on 15 villagers found 11 of them testing positive,” he said in a statement today, adding that there is a drastic increase of cases to both localities.
Masidi added the decision to impose EMCO on these localities was made in order to restrict the public movement so that the virus will not spread to other communities.
